How We Review Software
Last updated: March 2026
Every review and score on The SaaS Source follows the same methodology. Here’s exactly how we research, score, and update our content.
Our Five Scoring Criteria
Every tool is scored on five criteria, each weighted equally in the Overall Score:
- Ease of Use (20%): How quickly can a new user get productive? We evaluate onboarding, UI clarity, documentation quality, and learning curve.
- Features (20%): Does the tool do what it claims? We evaluate feature depth, completeness, and how well features are implemented vs. just listed on a pricing page.
- Value (20%): Does the price reflect the capability? We compare cost against alternatives at the same tier, accounting for what’s included vs. locked behind upgrades.
- Support (20%): What support channels are available? How responsive are they? We evaluate documentation, chat, email, and phone support across plans.
- Integrations (20%): How well does the tool connect with the rest of a typical SMB tech stack? We evaluate native integrations, API quality, and Zapier/Make compatibility.
Our Research Process
For each tool we review, we analyze publicly available features, pricing pages, documentation, and support resources. We also examine user feedback from verified review platforms, changelog history, and pricing change announcements. We do not accept vendor-provided content or sponsored testing environments as the basis for our reviews.
How We Handle Pricing
SaaS pricing changes frequently — sometimes without announcement. Every pricing reference on this site includes a “verified [month/year]” note. We include a reminder to confirm pricing on the vendor’s site before purchasing. When pricing changes are significant (as with Kajabi’s January 2026 update), we update our content promptly.
Affiliate Relationships
Some links on this site are affiliate links. We earn a commission when you purchase through them. This never influences our scores or rankings. Tools we haven’t reviewed, or tools we score lower than alternatives, appear honestly in our content regardless of affiliate relationship. Our full disclosure policy is on the Affiliate Disclosure page.
Corrections Policy
If you believe any information on this site is inaccurate, please contact us. We review all substantive correction requests and update content promptly when errors are confirmed.
